<< back to Current News List

The Columbian Building at Sixth and Esther Street in downtown Vancouver will be offered for lease by NAI Norris, Beggs & Simpson, according to H. Roger Qualman, Executive Vice President. The six-story building at 415 West Sixth Avenue is slated to finish construction in October of this year and will be the first new downtown building since 2002. Tamara Fuller, Associate Vice President, specializes in office properties for NAI NBS’ Vancouver, Washington, office and will handle the assignment for NAI NBS.

The building will be the headquarters for The Columbian Publishing Company, which will occupy 79,102 sf on floors one through four of the building. NAI NBS will have available for lease the remaining 36,102 sf of office space on floors five and six. Additionally, the 6,000 sf of premium ground level retail space fronting Sixth Avenue is available.

"The Columbian Building adds a beautiful brick building to the skyline and further validates downtown Vancouver as an office location within the region," said NAI NBS’ Fuller. "Views of the Columbia River, Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, and Esther Short Park combined with the convenience of the downtown location will make the building very attractive." The Columbian Building is located on the south side of Esther Short Park, the centerpiece of downtown Vancouver’s redevelopment effort.

The Columbian Building takes up a full city block and is LEED Gold Certified, meaning that it meets sustainability benchmarks of the US Green Building Council pertaining to site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality. Portland’s Gerding Edlen Development is the developer. GBD Architects is the architect, and Howard S. Wright Construction Company is the building contractor.
